Elite School of Dance and Performing Arts opened its doors in June of 2014, under the leadership of Regina Hylton. Although young, the studio has grown rapidly to offer classes in numerous dance genres for all ages, from toddlers to adults. It is our mission to provide high quality and diverse training to each and every one of our students.
We offer classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, clogging, hip hop, praise and worship, pointe, special needs, preschool, and targeted classes just for men and boys. We are committed to sharing all facets of the performing arts with those in the New River Valley.
Here at Elite, we believe that every student deserves a high quality education at an affordable price. The highly experienced staff at Elite is committed to making each and every class a positive, fun, and dynamic experience. A unique aspect of our studio is that our instructors work together as a team to provide each and every student with a well-rounded education and appreciation of the different aspects and styles of dance and performing arts.
We are constantly growing, and taking suggestions for future classes that our current students and general public may like to see offered.

The policies of Elite School of Dance and Performing Arts were designed to promote an organized, professional studio and to create a positive learning environment. By following these policies you will help create the best dance experience possible. Our Instructors are professionals and take dance very seriously. By following these policies you will help everyone excel at the fine arts! REGISTRATION: All students must fill out a new registration form at the start of each term, regardless of having filled one out for previous terms. A parent/guardian must sign the registration form should the student(s) be under eighteen (18) years of age. Each student must have their own individual forms - families may not group their members onto one form. New students are welcome to register for classes up to four (4) classes into each new term, and are based on teacher approval. TUITION: All tuition is due on the first class of each month. A late fee of $10 will be assessed per week until the balance is paid in full. Students may be held from participating in classes, recitals, competitions, and extra performances and activities if the account is delinquent for thirty (30) or more days. The student will be permitted to participate again once all past due amounts are paid in full. There will be a $25 service fee added on to all returned checks. ATTENDANCE: Daily attendance will be taken in each class. Good attendance is vital, not only for the instructor and other class members, but for the student as well. If you or your child will be missing or late for class for any reason, a call, text, or email to the studio director would be appreciated so as to not hold class awaiting their arrival. Class attendance within three (3) weeks of any performance is mandatory. In cases of excessive absences, or an absence from classes within three (3) weeks of a recital or major performance, the student may be withheld from performing at the discretion of the studio owner and instructor. There will be no refunds, credits, or discounts for missed classes. Regular attendance is essential to ensure the personal growth of your dancer and the progression of the class as a whole. If any staff member has to wait for students to be picked up after the studio closes, there is a $10 charge for every ten (10) minutes. The studio is not responsible for before or after class care for students. ETIQUETTE: Our goal is for all of our students to have an enjoyable and educational experience. All students will be treated with courtesy and respect, and we would appreciate the same from them. Please ensure that you / your student(s) observe the following rules: PAY ATTENTION: Listen closely to your teacher to ensure you are understanding the directions / corrections. NO TALKING: Asking your instructor a question during class is acceptable. Talking with your friends is very disruptive and makes is extremely difficult for the teacher to communicate with other students - and it is highly disrespectful. COME PREPARED: Proper attire and grooming, combined with a positive attitude, ambition, and energy are essential for success. BE ON TIME: Show respect for your teacher and classmates by being punctual for the start of class. Arriving late and leaving early are disruptive to your class, as well as other classes happening. NO FOOD, DRINK or GUM: Dispose of your trash properly before entering class. Water bottles labeled with your name will be permitted in the back room of the large studio, and in the waiting room. Any water bottles without a name on them will be thrown away. No food or drink will be permitted in the dance rooms. COPYRIGHT: Any choreography learned by a student is the sole property of the instructor and may not be copied or used for any activity outside of the studio’s scope without your instructors express permission. PERSONAL BELONGINGS: No personal belongings are permitted in the studios. Please place all dance bags, backpacks, etc; in the waiting area or dressing rooms. The studio and it’s employees are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. DANCE APPAREL: Proper class apparel is mandatory and expected for all students. Failure to wear required dancewear to class could result in students being asked to sit out, and will be permitted to return when properly dressed. Repeated failure to wear required attire may result in termination of lessons. Students are NOT permitted to wear jeans or controversial graphic t-shirts. Hair must be tied back if it reaches below the chin. Tights must be worn with leotards, and shorts that reach above mid-thigh. Proper dance shoes must be worn. No student may participate barefoot (or in socks) unless the instructor has given express permission / direction. STUDIO CLOSINGS: Cancellations for inclement weather are NOT based on any local school closings. If an instructor must miss class for any reason, a qualified substitute will be found to lead the class that week. Should no substitute be found, classes will be cancelled. If for any reason the total attendance of any one class falls below ½ capacity on any given day, that class will be canceled at no fault of the studio. Each class has a total of three (3) cancellations built into the calendar. If a class is cancelled MORE than three (3) times during a term, make-up classes will be scheduled. Please do not contact instructors asking if classes are happening as studio closings will be announced on Facebook and via Remind 101. If there are no announcements that classes are cancelled, then it is to be understood that classes are happening. COSTUME PAYMENTS: Class instructors will inform each of their classes of costume payment deadlines. All costumes may be paid in one lump sum, or in installments. For information on installments, please see Regina or your class instructor. Costumes that are not paid in full by the deadline WILL NOT BE ORDERED, and the student may be withheld from performances if they do not have the appropriate costume. Different policies may apply to any competition team costumes that may be required of our company dancers. Please see Regina or the instructor for information in that case. RECITAL: We will announce the date, time and location of our annual Spring Recital when confirmed. To help defray the cost of recital expenses such as the theater rental, technicians, special effects, props, sets, etc, a recital fee will be required the first week of April. This fee will include one (1) complimentary ticket to the recital, and one (1) free DVD of the recital per student. The recital fee cost will be announced by the studio owner when final costs of the recital are calculated. INSURANCE: All students must have a Waiver of Liability form in their file before being allowed to participate in any classes, workshops, camps, or intensives. We do not carry medical insurance for our students and/or customers. All students must be covered by their own personal or family group insurance policies. If injury occurs, it is understood that the family policy of the student and/or customer is your only source of reimbursement. REFUNDS: All payments for tuition, costumes, recital fees, competition fees, class materials, etc; are non-refundable and non-transferable. No credits will be applied. PHOTO RELEASE: The studio is hereby granted permission to take photographs or video of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements or other promotional materials the studio creates. CELL PHONES: Cell phones are not permitted in class by any student. They must be placed on silent and left in a dressing room or lobby so as to not disturb classes. VISITORS: Only staff and current students are allowed in the studios before, during or after class. All others must attain permission from the instructor and/or studio owner. STAFF: We believe that our success comes as a result of providing solid training and quality service. The teaching staff at Elite are professionally trained and have many years of experience. We do ask that any concerns regarding the studio be directed to the studio’s Facebook page or email address and not through our instructor’s personal phones or Facebook pages. NOTICES: We work very hard to keep students and parents notified of all studio events. It is essential that you read all emails that are sent to you from us and regularly check our website and Facebook pages as they include important information. It is also highly recommended that you sign up for Remind 101 texts for instant notifications regarding studio information.
